Leviathan is piece of art describing in a fantastic and extremelly well done presentation of the Russian society directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev.

This master piece has fantastic landscapes and a beautiful photography that make this film a classic to keep in “Top” collection.

The film has won several prices in different festivals all over the world and the almost perfect 99% in Rotten Tomatoes film website. And it is on the list to win an Oscar…

Despite the global recognition of this piece of art, the nationalists in Russia are complaining about it saying the film is trying to match the Western Society and destroying their country.

It got official support from the Russian Ministry of Culture may be looked upon with suspicion due the sarcastic and acid critic made to the Government and the totalitary corrupted system.

Vladimir Medinsky the secretary of Culture is not really enjoying the way the country was pictured after some Russians complaning. I guess this is a complicated position considering the Government paid 30% of the film.

Andrey Zvyagintsev based his story in a real one from Colorado USA where a man lost his property against a corporation and rented the machines to destroy the building then committing suicide, Andrey Zvyagintsev said it could happen anywhere.

Go and see it, you won’t regret at all.
